Stage one of the MARM framework:

Discuss with the adult, the risk identified

If risk requires IMMEDIATE action, this MUST be addressed without delay

Ascertain whether any children or other adults are at risk. If so, act without delay

Do mental capacity considerations apply? (see section 7)

If appropriate, complete a mental capacity assessment on the specific decision to be made (see section 7)

Consider if MARM is the appropriate process to use (see sections 3 and 4)

If yes, discuss with a senior manager the need to apply the MARM framework

Convene a MARM meeting
