1. MARM meeting is chaired by the initiating agency (see Appendix 5 for agenda).
2. If the adult is attending, ensure they have appropriate representation and/or support as required.
3. Agree on information‑sharing arrangements among all participants.
4. Chair outlines the high risk to the adult and/or others, including a summary of any current care and support in place.
5. Consider all relevant legislative frameworks that may apply.
6. Produce a collaborative and holistic assessment of risks (use Appendix 7).
7. Agree SMART actions to be taken, and assign responsibility for each action (use Appendix 7).
8. Consider the most appropriate lead agency, if different from the initiating agency.
9. Agree on the communication approach with the adult, if they are not attending the meeting.
10. Set a review meeting (if required), compile minutes, and share actions with attendees.
11. Ensure a copy of the risk assessment (Appendix 7) is shared with the adult or their representative.
12. Proceed to Stage 4: Further MARM review meetings (if required).
