The course is suitable for staff working in adult health and care settings who have regular contact with adults who have needs for care and support and are at risk of abuse or neglect and may need to raise or respond to concerns raised by others. This includes DCC provider services, private/independent contractors or practitioners and volunteers.

The course will provide you with the knowledge you require to respond appropriately to safeguarding adult concerns, undertake initial risk assessments, consider evidence and make emergency protection plans. It will consider what actions can be taken by private/independent services to prevent harm occurring in the first place.

The course is accessed as either face to face or virtual training. The course is one-day module available once a month.

If you have a Devon County Council or a NHS email address, you can create an account, and book on to training via DEL.
